In terms of the Middle Eastern conflict, Biden, Blinken, Burns, and Kamala are trying to use their power to influence Netanyahu to show restraint and follow international law in dealing with Gaza's civilian population. Yet, Netanyahu is a far-right extremist with massive scandals. The State Department in America for the first time in American history prepares to have a travel ban for armed fascist settlers (part of the Smotrich-Ben Gvir) who harmed innocent Palestinian people in the West Bank. That is why many people want a ceasefire and an international peace conference to immediately set up a two-sovereign-states solution. You are not going to get a solution where massive bombings and massive casualties increase in the thousands over just 2 months. We want justice for the Israeli hostages not barbarism against Palestinian civilians. That is clear. We condemn Hamas’s actions in the strongest terms (as Hamas has raped women and murdered men, women, and children in graphic, unjust ways), but that condemnation doesn’t mean that the occupation status quo is a permanent solution.
We condemn the massive epidemic of anti-Semitism in the world including America (where Jewish people are forced to hide their yarmulkes in universities in America, where swastikas are displayed in synagogues plus other places, where slurs are shown to Jewish people, and where Jewish people are beaten and killed). We are opposed to anti-Arabic racism and Islamophobia (when many Palestinian Americans have been killed or assaulted by extremists). We must have a fair solution where equality, justice, and peace are enacted for Israelis and Palestinian human beings. If Trump wins in 2024, he will very well promote giant concentration camps, massive deportations, anti-immigrant raids, and massive violations of the U.S. Constitution. So, Trump should never be voted in. For what Trump has done, anyone voting for Trump is completely wrong.
Now, Israel has used strikes in southern Gaza which contradicts their previous act of bombing northern Gaza. Today, we have a situation where even Vice President Kamala Harris is right to say to the Israeli government that Israeli military forces have a right to disagree with Hamas's terrorism, but they must adhere to international law in dealing with civilians. Massive Palestinian civilians and innocent Israelis have unjustly died in that conflict. Now, you have AIPAC targeting progressive black human beings (who are in Congress) and other members of color Congresspeople disproportionately because these Congresspeople believe in the dignity of Palestinian life (and they use critiques against the far-right extremist Benjamin Netanyahu). AIPAC funded MAGA Republicans, who believe in the 2020 election lie too making that group filled with hypocrites (in claiming to be for democracy and funding people who represent the antithesis of democracy). AIPAC is not only targeting Ilhan Omar and Jamaal Bowman. They are targeting Summer Lee of Pennsylvania, Cori Bush, and Ayanna Pressley. Centrist CBC members support AIPAC heavily. Years ago, AIPAC even wanted Donna Edwards from Maryland out of office. At the end of the day, Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live in peace, liberty, equality, and justice without Hamas terrorism and without occupation.
Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama said that he is releasing the bulk of his holds for Senate votes to confirm military promotions. Tuberville wants to release the promotions for three-star nominees and below, the vast majority of the nominees. Tuberville played these political games, because he was an ideologue who could care less about progressive values or freedom. He once delayed the confirmations of more than 450 top military nominees. The House Speaker Mike Johnson said that faces in the January 6th video will be blurred so insurrectionists won't be charged. This is treason from Mike Johnson. Those, who made sedition against American democracy should be held to account for their crimes against democracy. Many Republicans and Democrats put pressure on Tuberville to change his course. The Republican Party has been dominated by MAGA cultists. The worship of Trump by many Republicans is representative of a cult of personality. In our generation (not in the 1930's), MAGA extremists have used violence against innocent people, threatened Congressional people, promoted anti-Semitism, race-bait people, and shown a hatred of democracy.
The Trump gag order remains in place ahead of his testimony in the fraud trial that will exist next week. Trump believes that he is the victim of everything when people just want him to have accountability for his corrupt actions. Judge Chutkan said that former Presidents have no special conditions on their federal criminal liability. In other words, former Presidents can't violate the law without impunity, because he or she used to be the President of the United States of America. Judge Chutkan's words are related to the federal election interference case (that Jack Smith is dealing with on the prosecution side). Trump will try to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court on the March 4th trial date in 2024.
