Libyan Information

The Rebellion's XYZ Factors & Libya's State Run Oil Corp & Bank

There are several factors at play in the armed rebellion against Khadaffi [& so-called democracy & humanitarianism surely ain't part it]. Its telling that- The Rebel regime has taken out time from their busy civil-war schedule to- establish a central bank & international oil corp??!! Who ever heard of that before?!
Real factors to consider in the Libyan civil-war scenario:
Factor 1: The  US & EU former African colonizers, ain't liked Khadaffi since he over-threw their puppet king [in a bloodless coup by the way], kicked out the US' air-force base, & nationalized Libya's Oil & Central Bank.  PS: Its Note-worthy that the rebel flag is the same as old King Indris'.
Factor 2: After gangstering a few $billion from him by setting him up to take the fall on that sham Pan-Am 103 beef, & making him stand down from his alleged WMD Prog- the US, UK & EU pretended like they were going to play nice w Khadaffi. But they wanted him to open up his oil Econ to so-called free-market liberalization [privatization]- which he apparently did to a certain extent... BUT - He still kept Libya's Oil Corp & Central Bank under STATE CONTROL [Note: www.globalresearch.ca/PrintArticle.php?articleId=24306 - April 14 Article: Libya: Is it all about Oil {& water too} or all about Banking].
Factor 3: AFRICOM & NATO- Khadaffi refused to go along w AFRICOM or the so-called Mediterranean community initiative [spear-headed by that anti-Muslim bigot Sarkozy] which would have made Libya subservient to the EU & NATO [Note this article @: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=23940 Entitled:  War on Libya & Control of the Mediterranean]
Factor 4- The AU vs the AL: Khadaffi is apparently as much a Pan-Africanist as he is a Pan-Arabist, to the chagrin [or even disdain] of some caucasianized so-called mid-east Arabs - including in the midst of the rebels [as noted by Glen Ford & others here @ BAR].
Factor 5- Khadaffi's liberal attitude toward women's role in society: By western standards this might seem like a non-starter- but by Arab hard-core Islamist standards his position in this regard was often considered out-right blasphemous. Consider: In Libya that women are 70% literate, comprise at least +50% of those in college & even fly jet planes [Sis Cynthia McKinney says this would have been un-imaginable under King Indris- whose flag the rebels have adopted]- compared to Saudi Arabia [the birth place of Islam] home of Bin Laden [&- along w post-Nasser Egypt, the US' best Arab friend in the region] where women ain't even allowed to drive cars! AND- Speaking of the Saudis....
Factor 6- The Saudi Factor: There's been bad blood between Khadaffi & the House of Saud since Khadaffi accused them of selling out Iraq to the Bush / Bliar led so-called 'Coalition of the Willing' -&- selling-out the Palestinians to the US & Israelis. The word is that the Saudi regime saw their chance to get some pay-back by- agreeing to get the Arab League to vote yes on the US, UK, French, NATO no-fly zone over Libya [effectively causing Russia & China to stand down on their veto option] - while the US would look the other way as Saudi storm-troopers cracked-down on the truly non-violent protests against the Bahrainian Regime [what happened to the US', EU's, UN's so-called humanitarianism then].
