A few points of clarity for the record. Whether that watered down "Affordable
Health Care" Act (somtimes called "Obamacare ") is constitutional is open to
debate, and is being debated. YOur mere assertion that it is unconstitutional is
not enough. Obama did not and cannot rule by decree. The republic doesn't work
that way. Obama convinced the majority of the Democratic Party to vote with him,
and the Democrats were the majority. You're a bit unclear about his position on
those wars. He always OPPOSED the Iraq war, but not the Afghanistan war. The
Iraq wars has ended. The Afghan war continues. But keep in mind that it was not
Obama who started any of those wars. And it is usually easier to get into a war
than to get out. Now no politician controls the economy. If anything economics
(surtout in the USA) controls politics. You can only hope to allevate the
ravages of capitalism. For Obama to have made a bigger dent in the unemployment
rate--a recession which he inherited, but did not create--a much more robust
National REcovery program would hav4e been required. One reason that Obama could
not make as big a det in the unemplyment rate was simply that he made too many
concessions to Republican demands for tax cuts. The National Recovery act helped
put a dent in unemployment and may have staved off a another Depression. But it
wasn't enough. That's what happens when you spend too much effort compromising
with a reactionary Party like the Republicans who regard such "bipartisan "
ideas as a sign of weakness. As far as Guantanamo is concerned, Obama got simply
too much opposition from Republicans and others. If he were really able to rule
by decree he could simply decree that it he closed and it would be closed. He
could have decreed single payer univeraal health care and it would have
happened. My objection to Obama is that he didn't FIGHT for universal health
care rather than thw watered down and poor escuse for health care. Now politics
is dominated by corporate power. If the "Democratic party" is a misnomer, so is
the Republican Party. Democrats should be calledc the "Liberal " Corporate
Party, and Republicans should be called the "Fascist " Corporate Party
