It is Real Out Here.

Today, we live in a new era of our time. 2020 is a year of massive developments and massive sorrows. The coronavirus is very real. Major cities have closed their sports arenas, schools, and events. The NCAA March Madness is now suspended. Many professional sports leagues in general have suspended games. Broadway theaters have suspended shows through April 12, 2020. Trump's response has been abysmal, lacking in true accountability, and filled with xenophobia. Disneyworld in California will suspend its activities by Saturday. The stock market fell the largest since the 1987 crash. New York City bans gatherings of more than 500 people. Trump should tell the American people the truth. Nursing homes have been closed. Trump has divided America, but the virus doesn't discriminate. Illness has no partiality to anyone. It harms the young and the old, rich and poor, and people of every color. The economy could experience a bear market. We know what ought to be done. There should be universal, free testing for the coronavirus nationwide.

No one should pay a dime in getting testing. Paid sick leave for those who stay home is a must. There should be national and international cooperation to combat the disease from strategies, medicine, data, and other actions. There ought to be universal health care as is the case in most industrialized nations on Earth. U.S. cases have increased above 2,400 people with 57 people passing away in America. Italy is basically quarantined nationwide. One staffer in the Senate tested positive for coronavirus. The U.S. Capitol building suspends tours until April. 2 NBA Players have it. Trump's payroll tax proposal is wrong, because it is regressive. He issued a ban that says that all non-U.S. citizens can not go into America from Europe. This situation refutes laissez faire capitalism. Also, it is important that we shall never accept defeat. We are born with intelligence, and we will use our intellects to overcome this crisis.

The problems with the conservatives are obvious. They claim to support less government and morality, but many of their policies restrict the rights of minorities. Also, many of them love tax cuts for the wealthy that doesn't do enough to cause economic justice. The contradiction of the conservatives is that they claim to want to preserve standards, but many of them are silent on preserving the environment, preserving equal rights for all people, preserving civil liberties, and preserving the essence of social justice. Far too often, the conservatives see the power of the individual as superior to the the power of the collective. The reality is that the power of the individual and the collective have value. We believe in community and our common interests as a village. The problem with the liberal establishment (not true, independent progressives) is that it uses stealth in order to claim to be for rights, but they won't too far and advocate for revolutionary change. Many of those establishment types are funded by corporate foundations like the Rockefeller Foundation that uses policies that benefit the upper middle class and the rich not poor or working class people. That is why you hear them talk about the middle class all of the time. The truth is that the poor and the middle class ought to have justice not just the middle class. When more folks see that the oligarchy or the super wealthy interests promoted Jim Crow, the prison industrial complex, racism, imperialism, and other evils in order to divide and conquer people worldwide, then that will inspire change to eliminate evil. A solution is about dealing with both race and class. You have to talk about poor people, economic inequality, and the intersectional structures of oppression that harm black people too.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Brother Courtney Vance, and he is 60 years old. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and he is one of the most famous African American actors of this generation. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Harvard and his Masters from Yale. He met his future wife Angela Bassett at the Yale School of Drama at 1980. He studied at the Boston Shakespeare Company. He has performed in many films and theater plays. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in Hap Hairston in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy at 2013. He was in the play Fences from 1987 which was written by August Wilson. He was on the show Law and Order: Criminal Intent. He is famous for being on Hamburger Hill, The Hunt for Red October, Dangerous Minds, The Preacher's Wife, Panther, ER, and Hurricane Season. He is set to be in Uncorked by 2020 with actress Niecy Nash. Courtney Vance is married to Angela Bassett, and they have 2 children together. Vance supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and he is on the Board of Directors for The Actors Center in New York City. I wish Brother Courtney Vance more success.

She is a great singer, an overcomer, and a woman on a mission to execute more excellence in her own life. She was born in Houston, Texas. She is Sister LeToya Luckett, and it was her Birthday days ago. She is now 39 years old. She was once part of Destiny's Child, which was one of the great R&B groups of the late 1990's and early 2000's. She also established her own solo career. She earned 2 Grammy Awards, and sold over 25 million records with Destiny's Child. LeToya Luckett can write songs and has acted in film. She grew up singing in her local Brentwood Baptist Church. She took vocal lessons to be an opera singer. She joined Destiny's Child back in 1993 when she was very young. She was part of the early success of the group. She co-wrote Bills, Bills Bills, Say My Name, and other songs. In 2006, she made the solo song Torn. It was very popular. She had the album Lady Love too. This was released on 2009. She married to the entrepreneur Tommicus Walker. They have one daughter together that they love unconditionally. She owns Lady Elle Boutique. She serves her community by promoting education, women's empowerment, the arts, and fighting domestic abuse. Her movie of the Preacher's Kid is one of her greatest roles, because it told the truth about what goes on, and it teaches that redemption is available for anybody. She is a great artist and a musician who loves her art. I wish Sister LeToya Luckett more blessings.
