News of our Time.

One Arizona federal judge ruled that fascists have the free speech right to intimidate voters at ballot drop boxes. The judge who did it is the Donald Trump nominated judge Michael Liburdi. He was nominated from the Federalist Society. Today, people in body armor and tactical gear wearing masks are openly displaying firearms to intimidate voters. They want to confront and record voters and publish information about the voting. The ballot box intimidation plot is truly wrong. Dinesh Souza is a far-right extremist who follows Trump. He is a birther who plead guilty in 2014 for campaign finance fraud. He was sentenced to a fine of $30,000 and a five years' time of probation. Trump pardoned him in 2018. Dinesh believes in the lie that the 2020 election was stolen.

Democracy is at stake. According to Mother Jones, the GOP people in Wisconsin want to have a supermajority in the legislature to allow a takeover of the state. This plot to dismantle democracy will deal with everyone nationally. Voter suppression is commonplace everywhere in America, not just in the Deep South. These bad laws restrict when you can vote, what type of IDs are used to vote, and restrict other things involving voting. Many far-right extremists oppose gun control legislation and even Medicaid expansion. We know what is going on. We have a group of evil people who think in the 17th century instead of the 21st century who believe that certain people are not entitled to equality and justice. They reject the precepts of the Golden Rule, and they are overt in their aim of seeking oligarchy, the status quo, and a total authoritarian regime in America. We will do our part to reject that agenda and make sure that justice for all is a reality.

We know that the suspect involved in the assault of Paul Pelosi confessed to his actions. The suspect wanted to find Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hold her hostage. He posted memes and conspiracy theories on Facebook about the 2020 election and the January 6th attack. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins spoke at a press conference on Monday on the case. Some far right people are mocking the attack for political reasons. Elon Musk also promoted false information about the attack too. Many MAGA Republicans try to normalize political violence. The DOJ has charged the attacker with federal crimes too. This rhetoric and violence is not new, but it is still reprehensible.

Days ago was the Birthday of Sister Nia Long, and she is 52 years old. She was born in Brooklyn, New York City. As one of the most hard-working actresses of our generation, she had a diverse acting track record. Her parents were involved in education. Her mother was a teacher and printmaker, and her father was a high school teacher and poet. Her older half-sister is the actress and comedian Sommore. Nia Long has Afro-Trinidadian descent on her mother's side. Her grandmother was from Grenada, and she has Afro-Barbadian heritage too. Later, she lived in Iowa City, Iowa. Later, she moved to South Los Angeles when Nia Long was 7 years old. Nia Long went to many schools. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, guitar, and acting.

She graduated from Westchester High School in Los Angeles by 1989. She was in many shows and movies. She was on the soap opera Guiding Light (from 1991 to 1994). She was in the movie Boyz n the Hood. We know her for playing Will Smith's girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Nia Long was in the Best Man, Third Watch, Boston Legal, and Friday. She directed Yolanda Adams's music video for This Too Shall Pass. She earned a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Third Watch. From Love Jones to Are We There Yet?, everyone appreciates her gifts. Nia Long represents determination, resilience, and a passion for living life indeed. She loves her children. She has been a motivational speaker at the Sterling Children's Home in Barbados.  I wish Sister Nia Long more Blessings.
