The End of 2022.

Soon, 2022 will be gone. This year has been filled with historic times. From the start of 2022, we saw the spread of the pandemic and the start of the unjust, illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia. In Russia, many protesters have been imprisoned for opposing such actions. In America, hearings existed from the House January 6th Committee to find the truth about the insurrection and how deep the coup d'état attempt against democracy existed. In terms of sports, the World Cup, NFL developments, NBA Finals, and other games were abundant. The LA Rams run the Super Bowl, and the Las Vegas Aces won the WNBA Finals too. Also, the 2022 Eugene World Track and Field Championships existed with America winning big along with Jamaican athletes showing excellence in victories too. Pele, Queen Elizabeth, and other famous individuals passed away. A historic blizzard existed this Winter that caused record-cold temperatures in places across America. That was certainly the coldest weather that I've experienced in my life. Trump could be indicted next year. The Midterm elections caused the Democrats to win the Senate and the House only have a slight majority Republican composition. People continue to protest for human rights, political discussions exist, and Elon Musk exploits the First Amendment to give a safe haven to extremists and bigots. 2022 saw pandemic cases go down for the majority of the year with a sudden rise by the end of the year. 2022 was never a dull moment, and life continues. Many legends and other unsung people passed away in 2022, and we honor their legacies. Also, we realize that 2023 certainly gives us an opportunity for us living to do better and be better as human beings.

The January 6th committee has released more transcripts from top Trump aides. In the transcripts, Donald Trump Jr. tried to explain away a text he sent in trying to overthrow the legal 2020 election. On November 5th, 2020, Donald Trump Jr. texted Mark Meadows about plans to try to keep his father in office. Senator Lindsey Graham said he wanted votes to make sure Georgia would vote for Trump. This plan failed. Stephanie Grisham was a former White House press secretary and chief of staff to Melanie Trump. She said that she learned from people inside the West Wing on January 6, 2021, that Trump thought that the rioters looked "very trash," but reveled in how they were "fighting for him." Grisham said that Trump didn't like how they looked. Chris Miller said that he endorsed giving the Washington D.C. mayor more control of the D.C. National Guard. Therefore, more transcripts are coming out. We are fortunate that the attempted coup d'état against the American government failed.

The Nassau County D.A. is investigating Santos' lies about his political resume. Tulsi Gabbard interviewed George Santos. Tulsi is a hypocritical person who claims to be independent but substitutes as a guest host for the racist Tucker Carlson's TV show. Obviously, Santos is wrong to promote lies about his family history and his religious views. This is a broader indictment of the problems with the Republican Party. Kevin McCarthy is silent on this because they are too cowardly to confront the real issue of bigotry and corruption found in the Republican Party. They (or GOP extremists) lecture us on morality and integrity but have politicians filled with pro-Qanon, MAGA cult worship. The Republican leadership refuses to hold any Congressional Republican accountable for anything that deals with scandals. January 3rd, 2023 is coming up soon. The GOP leadership wants power by all means, even at the expense of promoting far-right extremism and lies.

It is important to allow the late story of Anndel Taylor to be known. She passed away at only 22 years old in Buffalo, NY because of the freezing weather. She moved to Buffalo from Charlotte, North Carolina. She was driving home from work at a senior citizen center. Taylor was only six minutes away by the car from her house. She was stranded in the street. The snow kept on falling, and she contacted her sisters including one of her older sisters Tomeshia Brown. Taylor called 911 and was waiting for first responders according to Brown and Wanda Brown Steele, Taylor's mother. Taylor was in contact with her relatives throughout the time. She froze to death in her own car. Anndel was a caring person who helped her friends and relatives. Her family made a GoFundMe campaign to pay for her funeral services.

Some sad news is that today on December 29, 2022, Pele passed away at the age of 82. During his life, he was more than the greatest soccer player in human history. He used his platform to expand the culture of soccer worldwide. His playing for the New York Cosmos during the 1970's helped to grow soccer culture in America. By 1999, he was named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee. During the 20th century, he was the most popular athlete along with Muhammad Ali. As part of the Afro-Brazilian community, his role in showing the gifts of black people should always be appreciated. For decades, Pele sincerely executed humanitarian projects to help human beings all over the world. He won 3 World FIFA World Championships in 1958 in Sweden, in 1962 in Chile, and in 1970 in Mexico. Pele had speed, agility, and creativity when he was in the field. Pele loved his children.
Rest in Power Brother Pele.
