U.S. Representative Rich McCormick, who is a Republican from Georgia telling CNN that children should get jobs instead of getting free school breakfast and lunch shows how wicked he and many Republicans are. Many people get free lunch not because of laziness, because many children need them to survive. Callous attitudes from people like Rich outline why I will never support the Trump agenda. The political independent author Sophia A. Nelson told the truth that America has a problem when journalists are taken off the air to appease Trump, career prosecutors at the DOJ are fired for no reason, and the Trump team members desire to cut off student aid, loans, and grants. There is the silencing of the NIH and CDC, the leaving of WHO (and the Climate Change Agreement), reversing decades of civil rights gains, and firing Inspector generals. We all agree that violent criminals should be prosecuted after due process, but we oppose ICE agents storming schools or neighborhoods, terrorizing communities, racially profiling individuals, and threatening to deport people who have children here. We know that Native Americans (who are American citizens) have been harassed by ICE agents recently. ICE agents illegally detained an American citizen (who is a military veteran) in Newark, New Jersey too. We have a tyrant and a fascist who is President, and his evil must be opposed.
The White House ordering a freeze on federal aid represents Trump far right conservative agenda. A judge recently stopped the freeze until Monday. This is blatantly unconstitutional as there was an agreement to fund American services federally. Trump is using executive orders to freeze already executed funding. Many Senators are calling out the cruelty of the policy, because many people who need Medicaid, free lunch programs, etc. could lose funding. Republicans can't pick and choose which laws they like. The executive branch is violating the power of the legislative branch. People with veteran benefits and use cancer research, Head Start, etc. will be harmed by this policy. The White House won't confirm if Medicaid payments stopped. Trump has unjustly fired Jennifer Abruzzo as she defended workers' rights and cracked down on union busters as General Counsel at the NLRB. She was one of the strongest pro-worker voices in the federal government. Scott Bennett being confirmed represents how he wants billionaires and the super-wealthy to pay little to no taxes while laissez-faire economic policies remain.
Nearly half of over 1,100 immigrants arrested on Sunday don't have criminal records. Immigration raids have increased in America in New York City, Chicago, Hawaii, Texas, etc. We predicted this for years. Trump wasn't lying about what he desired. Trump, Miller, Bannon, and other xenophobes justify this fascism by saying the lie that America is being "invaded" by immigrants when there are record low border crossings. These actions won't improve the American people's lives, lower the price of eggs, improve education, or develop our infrastructure. We know the agenda behind this Trump anti-immigrant agenda. This is about causing benefits for his rich wealthy oligarchs and to eliminate the diversity of American society (as many people in the Trump camp believe in the Great Replacement Theory racist lie). Trump has expanded the executive branch and made unconstitutional actions while the GOP is unconditionally in line with him. Trump wants to strip citizenship from citizens born in America whose parents are undocumented human beings in direct defiance of the Fourteenth Amendment. He and Tom Homan desire to make non-citizens have no fundamental human rights when the Constitution and international law state that non-citizens in America have human rights. He ordered Northcom to have battle plans to deal with immigration.
Donald Trump has threatened criminal prosecution against state officials and private citizens who take lawful steps to protect or advise those targeted by his orders. This is fascism and a cruel irony 80 years after our ancestors and relatives defeated the fascists during WWII. One-sixth of all Americans are foreign-born, pay taxes, work, and attend schools. These hypocrites forget that America is a nation of black people, immigrants, Native Americans, and human beings of all colors who contributed heavily to its development. Trump's plan to allow Northcom to work in America is a violation of Posse Comitatus. Conservative maga hypocrites lecture us on crime, but they support insurrectionists (who destroyed property, assaulted police officers, vandalized property, waved Confederate and Nazi flags, called officers slurs, etc.) to have pardons. they lecture us on morality and holiness but support cabinet members who are accused of sexual abuse, drunkenness, and other evils. Trump once cutting the video of the Tuskegee Airmen to be shown to the Air Force until outcry came shows what the Maga movement is. They use DEI as coded language to disguise their racism, their classism, and their bigotry. They lecture us on taxes but want large tax cuts on the super-wealthy. They claim to be compassionate, but they are silent went Trump freezes all foreign aid right now which harms our brothers and our sisters globally. Trump has a freeze financial assistance programs (if they claim to contradict Trump's policies) harming farmers, SNAP recipients, etc. Congress approved these benefits. A judge stopped this effort temporarily. Trump is a cruel person. Therefore, this 2nd term is the epitome of hubris.
Days ago, Auschwitz survivors mark the 80th year since the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz was liberated. The liberation took place on January 27, 1945, in Poland by Red Army soldiers from the 322nd Rifle Division at 15:00. A total of 231 Red Army soldiers died in the fighting around the Monowitz concentration camp, Birkenau, and Auschwitz I (including the town of Oswiecim and village of Brzezinka). For most the survivors, they suffered massive pain and unspeakable injustices. Red Army soldiers found things so graphic that I can't mention them here. They found 600 corpses and seven 7.7 tons of human hair. The Soviet forces were shocked by the Nazis' treatment of the victims at Auschwitz. Red Army general Vasily Petrenko, commander of the 107th Infantry, said that he was shocked seeing human beings looking like living skeletons and how the Nazis treated women, children, and old men in a disgusting fashion. The liberating forces worked with the Polish Red Cross to help the survivors by organizing medical care and food. Red Army hospitals cared for 4,500 survivors. People documented the camp. As late as June 1945, there were still 300 survivors at the camp who were too weak to be moved. We remember this solemn day of the 80th year anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz to stand up for our democratic rights that our ancestors died for. We should never let an authoritarian and his acolytes cause us to lose our faith. We have faith, we are living, we have indomitable strength, and we shall win victoriously in the end.
