Mentally Ill al-Qaeda Convert Nearly Blows Himself Up

It is so transparent as to almost be a joke. One day after eleven men took the British government to the European Court of Human Rights, complaining they had been illegally held without charge as terrorism suspects, a mental patient, described as an Islamic convert, nearly blows himself up with a bomb in a restaurant in southwestern England. “Nicky Reilly, 22, was arrested and taken to hospital after the small explosion in a branch of the family-orientated Giraffe restaurant chain in the center of the city of Exeter,” reports Reuters.

Although limited in scope, the attack was a reminder of earlier bombings and attempted bombings in Britain, given the arrested man’s Islamic links.

Reilly was the only person injured in the latest attack, and little damage was reported from the explosion in the restaurant’s toilets. Police later discovered and disarmed another device nearby.

“Our investigations so far indicate Reilly, who has a history of mental illness, had adopted the Islamic faith,” said Tony Melville, deputy chief constable of Devon and Cornwall police.

“We believe, despite his weak and vulnerable state, he was preyed upon, radicalized and taken advantage of.”

No word exactly who “preyed upon” and “radicalized” the man, who is white, but we can guess — it was British intelligence. If this seems like a stretch, consider the fact British intelligence sheltered Abu Qatada and his family. Qatada was supposedly Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe. And then there is Haroon Rashid Aswat, an MI6 asset, said to be the mastermind behind the 7/7 bombings in London. Aswat was a member of the al-Muhajiroun group, recruited by MI6 to send fighters to Kosovo, a fact revealed by former Justice Dept. prosecutor John Loftus on Fox’s Day Side. As well, it is common knowledge MI5 operatives “were infiltrated inside the IRA and Sinn Fein,” that is to say the IRA became a British intelligence asset. MI5 provided “infra-red equipment which was used to provide the IRA with state-of-the-art bomb detonation technology,” according to Neil Mackay of the Sunday Herald.

If we are to believe the Telegraph, “radicals” supposedly “brainwashed” Nicky Reilly “outside a fish and chip shop.” No explanation on how this is possible. “Locals claimed that the 22-year-old changed his name to Mohammed Rasheed last year and would meet men in a cafe and outside the King’s Fry fish and chip bar near his home in Plymouth, Devon…. He repeatedly watched video footage of the September 11 attacks and had a poster of the burning Twin Towers on his wall, friends claimed…. and tried to kill himself several times.”

Expect this story to be blown way out of proportion by the complaisant corporate media. Once again, we will be warned about the risk of white al-Qaeda converts, never mind they invariably turn out to be retards, mental patients, or extremely naive and pose little threat.
