Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new Gallup poll finds Americans are more pro-life on abortion than residents of France, Germany and the UK. It also shows Muslims in the various European nations are more pro-life than their non-Muslim European counterparts and Americans as well.
Gallup asked each group to say whether or not abortion is a morally acceptable act.
As LifeNews.com reported earlier this week, the poll found Americans oppose abortion on a 48-40 percent mark.
While 40 percent of Americans say abortion is morally acceptable, Europeans are okay with the destruction of unborn children at a much higher clip.
France led the way, where 77 percent of the public says abortion is morally permissible, followed by the UK at 58 percent and Germany at 52 percent.
Religious Americans more strongly oppose abortions than the American public in general, with just 22 percent telling Gallup it's all right.
Still, members of the Islamic faith in various European nations are more pro-life than religious Americans.
Just 34 percent of Muslims in Berlin say abortion is morally okay, Paris Muslims are more strongly pro-life at 24 percent approval for abortion, and just 10 percent of London-based Muslims say abortion is okay.
The results show pro-life groups in both the United States and Europe should consider a greater outreach to members of the Islamic faith to encourage them to get involved in the battle to protect unborn children.
Muslims may also be a voting block receptive to the pro-life message from political candidates who strongly oppose abortion.
