Also, Maya Angelou would want us to continue in our revolutionary thinking. Reform can never solve our problems comprehensively. Yet, revolutionary solutions can assist humanity in a great deal. There are many books and documentaries (like Citizen King, The Black Power Mixtape, Malcolm X: Make it Plain, Day of the Gun, Slavery By Any Other Name, All Power to the People, At the River I stand, DEATH OF A REVOLUTIONARY: GEORGE JACKSON SOLEDAD BROTHER, etc.) that describe the Black Revolutionary movement in the world. We see that the parasitical corporate elite has stolen wealth from the common people. People now are working more and harder than they did forty or fifty years ago (and they are relatively poorer than they were forty or fifty years ago). The great divide between the super rich and the rest of us have been greater than before. The thieves of our wealth are the plutocratic 1%. True wealth must be restored to the common people who created it. We need economic empowerment and self determination, but this will require the transcendence of capitalism. If we want real change, then we have to build bridges of understanding across people globally and allow people to be made accountable for their actions. Also, we should pay attention to the evil deeds of others, so that we can do the opposite of the wicked deeds of extremists and bigots in the world. We should use proactive action in opposing institutions of oppression and we ought to give more inspiration to our people (in saying that they are black and beautiful. There has to be more mentorships, apprenticeships, cooperatives, and other programs that can improve the lives of our people. Our past has been filled with awe inspiring, excellent contributions in the realm of world history and we are fighting for a great future as a community. All members of the human race certainly deserve respect and dignity). Maya Angelou was a brave woman. She overcame so much and she achieved so much during her inspirational life. She inspired women to express excellent intellectual talent not only in literature, but in a wide range of other endeavors (from science, medicine, and to engineering). Maya Angelou was a great voice for the social movements during the 20th and 21st centuries. Her life is a reflection of the power of the human spirit and of the strength of black people. First Lady Michelle Obama's words were potent too. Bless her children. :) Regardless of our agreements or disagreements on issues, no one should be questioned of their humanity in an unfair way. Maya Angelou taught us that we may walk along different roads, but we are still part of one human family. The words from Maya Angelou are permanent. Her spirit is still around and her grace plus her compassion will never be forgotten. RIP Maya Angelou.
One Sister wrote something about an important issue. The Sister wrote in her blog that some of our people will be left behind. I wish that all of us would be saved, but all of us will not wake up unfortunately. I think that we should love each other more and love ourselves. Too many human beings in this generation seek immediate social gratification instead of sacrificing for something. Progress is not made by glamorizing anti-intellectualism or harboring the hatred of truth. Progress is made by struggle and sacrifice. Our people back in the day sacrificed their lives even at times so that we could live in this time. Some in this generation are doing what is right, but some are not. Black people having their own independent infrastructure is fine with me. I believe in black self determination and I believe in workers' rights as well (I respect the concept of caring for the environment, and I believe in human civil liberties too). When more of us truly care for each other, then things will happen for the betterment of all of us. All human beings deserve justice and equality. Every human being is born equal and is endowed with inalienable rights forever. Our ancestors suffered much worse than we do and they persisted. Therefore, we will never give up and we will continue in the struggle for our liberation as human beings. We will be heard and we will win. We have to hope for the best and prepare for the worse. That is my M.O. Many people have to respect the great contributions of black people in music, science, technology, politics, theology, etc. Yet, I have an optimistic personality, so we have to continue to do our jobs (in loving our families, standing up for real principles, and defending the truth). Yes, you can tell they (or evil bigots) are in the losing side of history, because their views have no staying power and the views of the racists are inaccurate, evil, and retrograde. When the day of justice comes, folks will celebrate. I do find that when we act more moral, a sense of peace comes in our hearts. When I do the right thing and speak inspirational words, I feel a great feeling of joy. It is not describable. I feel happy and I feel a sense of calm when I do righteous acts in real life. I am glad that the young Brother recorded the ignorant person, so the world can see what not to do. Many of these extremists hate anyone who expresses an alternative point of view other than their own. Justice is coming. It is truly a matter of TIME. :)
Ronald Reagan was a deceptive man. He bashed many of the legitimate policies from the New Deal including the real policies from the eras of the New Frontier plus from the Great Society. Many people shed blood and died for the establishment of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Medicare, Medicaid, the Housing Rights Act, Social Security, etc. Now, you have the Tea Party/GOP trying to strip many of the programs that people fought for. The Reagan revolution reminds us of we ought not to embrace (which are totally regressive policies that mainly benefit the 1%). We should take motivation from the D-Day event to fight not only fascism, but racism, ignorance, bigotry, and economic injustices in the world. Not to mention that real voting fraud in recent years have been very smart and there has been many testimonies of voter suppression after reactionary voting ID laws have been instituted. Many of these laws restrict the amount of time that people can vote. Those who agree with voter suppression (many of these same people hate universal health care, love imperialism, and hate economic justice for people) ignore the facts including credible studies as you have accurately written. What is most important is not what ignorant people say. It is what we will do. God gives us the opportunity in my view to do what is right. Goodness, peace, and love are true ideals. That is why when I was working, I meet a nice Sister that I knew from high school. We waved at each other to signify our mutual respect that we have for each other as human beings. :) We live in a country with more backgrounds, cultures, and languages spoken than in human history. We in the human family either have to find ways to get along with other or more tensions will develop. We can still love our black culture, and love humanity in general too. We should know the chemicals found in sunscreen. Me personally, I feel no problem going out in the sun without anything on my skin for 10-15 minutes (early in the morning or in the afternoon to get vitamin D. Of course, we should use protection when we are out in the sun, especially in the summer). Yet, if someone is going outside for an extended period of time in the sun, then extra protection is great. We should check with experts or dermatologists to figure out the healthiest sunscreen available. Organic based sunscreen is a great tool for human beings to use. Another great point mentioned in this article is the great value of our melanin as African peoples. Our melanin is part of our being and I appreciate the CREATOR for giving me an abundance of melanin. Human beings have every right to improve their skin and their health in general.
The Ukraine conflict deals with the IMF trying to dominate the Kiev. It deals with the West supporting many fascists in the country. Also, the conflict deals with many economic issues as well. Russia disagrees with the NATO intervention in Ukraine. Now, there is a grand geopolitical project where the Russian Gazprom company has signed an agreement to abandon the dollar. Itar Tass is the official Russian news agency. It reported that the Russian main energy company Gazprom Neft has signed agreements with its consumers to switch from dollars to Euros (as transition to the ruble). The action is done for payments under contracts. The Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom is Alexander Dyukov. There has been pressure in Ukraine shown as pressure from Wall Street (including its military, propaganda, and political apparatus). 9 out of 10 consumers of Gazprom’s oil and gas agreed to pay in Euros. The Gazprom Company made an unprecedented May 21 deal with Shanghai. It involved a 30 year $400 billion natural gas supply to China. President Putin and President Xi Jinping have agreed to this action. There is still the Anglo-American sponsored violent destabilization of Ukraine. The ruble and the Renminbi (or Yuan) are important currencies. Russia and China have economically and strategic ties for three decades de facto. Wall Street interests want Russia and China to be separated for competition and geopolitical purposes. Divide and rule strategies are part of British colonial geopolitics historically. Russia and China have many differences (like historical, ideological, and cultural differences) and they have overcome them. China and Russia is allied with the BRICS movement too. The Western elites want more of the resources in Eurasia. For years, they have tried to instigate a perennial rivalry between India, China, and Russia. The West now wants nations to battle against each other in a slick fashion as advocated by Zbigniew Brzezinski. There is a massive U.S. petro dollar system that could be replaced with a more rational economic system in the States. Gen. Leonid Ivashov of Russia said that BRICS nations are trying to form their independent currency system. One reason that Iran, Libya, and Iran are being either attacked or demonized by the West is because each nation tried or is trying to not be controlled by U.S. dollar dominance. In contrast to the US and the EU, BRICS countries altogether own natural resources sufficient not only to keep their economies afloat in the settings of contracting availability of hydrocarbon fuels, food, potable water, and electric power but also to sustain vigorous economic growth. The shift to national currencies in the financial transactions between the BRICS countries should guarantee an unprecedented level of their independence from the US and from the West in general, but even that is only the tip of the iceberg. BRICS nations so far are not massively harmed by color revolutions either. Today, we see the European continent in play. Some Europeans want more independence while others want to ally with the NATO/EU hegemony.
Now, I am learning even more information about the Caribbean. Caribbean history, culture, and music are excellent displays of human expression. The history of the Caribbean began obviously with the Native American people. Far too often, some forget the value of the indigenous peoples of the Americas, but I will always comprehend the intrinsic value of Native Americans. The Native Americans of the Caribbean migrated heavily in the Caribbean region. Many worshiped polytheistic religions. They established great music and other great civilizations. They were diverse. Many have talked about the Tainos, the Caribs, and other indigenous human beings. European imperialists from Columbus to others have invaded lands, abused Native Americans, and even exterminated tons of Native Americans in the Caribbean. The Western imperialists wanted territories and resources to advance their respective Empire. Native Americans were heavily used as slaves for the purpose of labor exploitation. Later, Africans were used as slaves since the Native American population in the Caribbean was so depleted by the eighteenth century. The good news is that the peoples of the Caribbean (which included Africans, Native Americans, and Creoles) stood up to the brutal oppression of slavery, imperialism, and colonialism as a means for these human beings to fight for freedom. Many of the revolts and revolutions in the Caribbean were successful in establishing nations like Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Trinidad, etc. That is great news. We also conversely realize about the complications in the Caribbeans. These issues deal with poverty, income inequality, Western corporate exploitation, debt issues, human rights issues, etc. There have been stories about the many problems in the Caribbean. Yet, the Caribbean people are very resilient and many Caribbeans have made great strides in their lives. So, I have hope for the future. The Caribbean region has a beautiful landscape with tons of down to Earth, progressive human beings. I know many acquaintances of Caribbean heritage. I have Caribbean heritage on the mother’s side of my family. Caribbean heritage is very diverse culturally and ethnically. There are those of Black African descent, Native American descent, Indian descent (as in from the Indian subcontinent), European heritage, and those of other backgrounds. The strength of the human family is truly beautiful and inspiring. Also, it is important to respect the Afro-Caribbeans who made a great contribution not only in the history of the Americas, but in the history of world history too. I am a black African American, but I have a great appreciation and respect for Caribbean human beings.
