Former Illinois Abortion Center Will Become Pre-Natal Clinic Helping Women

Aurora, IL (LifeNews.com) -- With Planned Parenthood having built a massive new abortion center in Aurora, Illinois and the zoning board ruling against pro-life advocates trying to stop it, there hasn't been much in the way of good news from this city. However, new reports indicate a former abortion center has been turned into a pre-natal clinic helping women.

Dr. Gustavo Sanchez received significant support at last week's zoning meeting for his plan to move his OBGYN practice to 523 W. Galena Blvd.

The answer is because his practice will be housed in the former West Suburban Gynecology Clinic abortion center run by Aleksander Jakubowski.

Jakubowski did abortions for 15 years at the center and then Louis Meyers took over the abortion business in 2005 when Jakubowski retired. Meyers was eventually evicted from the building and it has remained vacant until now.

According to the Beacon News, Sanchez and the building's new owner, Ray Gonzalez, have agreed to a clause in the contract that no abortions will be done at the facility.

Sanchez told the newspaper he's happy about that part of the contract because he delights in delivering babies.

This adds to a growing list of former abortion businesses where pregnancy centers, pro-life groups or OBGYN doctors now run the facility.

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman told LifeNews.com, "The trend of pro-lifers buying abortion mills and using them for life-affirming purposes continues in the case of the old West Suburban Gynecology building."

"What was meant for evil, is now being turned to good. It is an amazing picture of good triumphing over evil and of life prevailing over death," he added.

Operation Rescue bought and closed an abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas, in 2006, and has converted it into its national headquarters. A memorial for the pre-born is planned.

"This is symbolic of what is happening in our nation today," Newman concluded.

"Americans are rejecting abortion and becoming increasingly pro-life. People have realized the truth that what everyone was told was supposed to liberate women has only caused immeasurable human tragedy and heartache. We strongly believe the days of decriminalized abortion on demand are numbered," he said.
