Imperalism

http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance155.html

Note by Me: I disagree with Vance's view that nationalism means unconditional support of the government's policy. Nationalism is simply a love of the existence of national sovereignity not calling the state infalliable. Also, many neo-liberals voted for McCain like Joseph Liberman, not just some neo-conservative Christians. Conservative Christians are not to be blame for all of the evils in this country. Vance is starting to play into the hands of the elite in saying that. The elite caused this war and conservative Christians are being used as scapegoats.

Timothy,

I think you're fishing! ;-)

But anyway, I don't mind being your foolish Garp fishy! ;-)

OK. My interpretation was that Vance's interpretation was that for some nationalism means unconditional support; and that that is a dangerous form of certainty in belief type of nationalism, with little critical thinking in terms of bigger picture issues of the relevant goverment policy.

What I interpret as your interpretation of what nationalism means to you (cause it means different things to different people) is a more deeper nationalism; cause you examine issues, from many perspectives and make up your own mind, for yourself, and arn't afraid of having opinions that others may disagree with. You don't just go along to get along; like so many do.

I would certainly agree that conservative christians are not to blame for all the evils; there is plenty of blame to go around, and there are precious -- if any -- few who are not blameworthy (although there appear to be many who appear to consider themselves not blameworthy).

And when it comes to 'ending wars' both class and military; (I know we disagree on encouraging people to breed less babies, and especially not to conceive babies that are not wanted, cause if every baby that is conceived is wanted, then they would not want to be aborted); then I agree with Homer Lea and Brad Blanton.

I like reading your comments; which I could hear them, rather than read them! ;-)

But anyway, I thought it was a really great article; and I appreciate you for bringing it to my attention; with your 'Note by Me' and I appreciate you for what you said in your 'Note by Me'.
