I knew a former Air Force veteran, who was into Tarot stuff, in Berkeley. He had worked as an Air Force investigator on Project Blue Book.. and anyway he was a nice guy.
I didn't go to deep into it with him, cause he had some problems with women who really treated him like shit and lied to him, and manipulated him, and so a couple of times we had some skinnydipping philosophy chats sitting nikked in his friends house outside jacuzzi.
Anyway, in our conversations about why he kept going back to these women, he admitted that for him 'love' or 'attraction' was about a womans physical appearance, not about her inner character, or her principles, or loyalty or such things.
And so I guess I somehow concluded that if Tarot 'spirituality' had anything to do with loving a persons inner qualities, it kinda hadn't gotten through to him.
Beyond that I don't know much about Tarot. But if it makes the people who swear by it, happy -- well I am happy for them; but just like with any other religion, they ain't gonna come close to making a convert out of me.. if they endorse their religion's slave and cannon fodder breeding domination, of lies and deceipt etc. etc.
All peddling thier own 'religion' as the one and only, as if man sucked the word 'diversity' out of his thumb?
Sometimes I think, if I was 'God' listening to all these people, who are SOOOOOOOOOO 100% CONVINCED THEY ARE INTERPRETING GOD'S WORD VERBATIM, I MEAN TO VERBATIM THAT THEY AIN'T GOT 0.00000000000001% DOUBT IN THEIR MIND THAT THEY ARE 100% CORRECT; and there are at least a few million of these 'religious leaders' and many of them saying so many contradictory things about 'God'; that I sometimes wonder, if 'God' listens to all these, interpretations, doesn't he get confused about whom he is supposed to be.
What if these 'religious leaders' have maybe just made an error in their interpretation, and they got it say 5% wrong, and that 5% changes the meaning entirely? Arn't they then lying about God's intentions, and his 'word'?
My mother is a very religious Christian; and she says that somewhere in the Bible it is written that those who say they speak in God's name will be judged to much higher standards.
Anyway I prefer to love someone for their inner qualities; that's just my personal preference. Like you!
It's certainly true that those who claim to speak in God's name will be held to a very high standard. To discern between fake and real preachers is to test their words and actions with the Bible simply. Some may use slick tactics, but the Scriptures are a sufficient way to check up on any so-called preacher to see if they are indeed real or fake.
PS: You ever been to Monte Carlo? Only time I recall going was in '92 or '93 I think it was, went to the Monte Carlo Grand Priz with some yachtie bum friends of mine, when I was a yachtie bum in Antibes for the summer. Think Shoemaker won, but not sure, wasn't really paying much attention to the cars, more the people.
