The Kingdom of Heaven Movie (and the Jesuits)

http://z10.invisionfree.com/The_Unhived_Mind_II/index.php?showtopic=34519&view=getnewpost

This is once again that old argument that the Sepulchre were around a h__ of a lot longer than what we're usually led to believe. If we look at the Sepulchre we see its roots go back to around 1099 the exact same time of the roots of the Knights Hospitaller. The Knights Templar coming almost twenty years later in fact. I conclude that the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem was always the master of the Rich Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon. Everyone should view the movie 'Kingdom of Heaven' directed by Ridley Scott and containing Michael Sheen who's an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. In this we shall see the power of the Sepulchre over the Temple of Solomon and the rest.

Dear Craig

Okay, some clarification on my part is needed. Yes you are correct that chronologically the Hospitaller Order (f. 1099 by Gerard Thom & later known as the Order of Malta) & the Order of the Holy Sepulchre (f.1103 by Godfrey de Bouillon) predated the Order of the Temple (f. 1118 or 1119 - depending on the copy of Guillaume de Tyre's account [note that he was likely a Templar frontman] by Hugues de Payen - who had a fiefdom in north-west Troyes in France, see more on that below - & Godfrey de Saint-Omer, their patron being the Cistercian St Bernard of Clairvaux, who wrote the Templar Constitution).

However: First Crusade militia commander Godfrey, Lord of Bouillon, Duke of Lower Lorraine (who founded the Order of the Holy Sepulchre & was offered the post of first Latin King of Jerusalem) was a relative pawn (albeit a bloodline one) of the Merovingian-descended (esotericist, Kabbalically-inclined) "Salt Line" families (Bouillon being a Salt Line city), also referred to as the Troyes Fraternity (Troyes being an ancient Salt Line city), who had a burning resentment for the Carolingian Franks & the Roman Catholic Church, although they would use both for their purposes - the ultimate purpose in the case of the Roman Church being to replace it with something far older. The Troyes Fraternity adopted the name the Order of Sion once the Holy Land was secured & predate the Council of Troyes in the late 1120's.

Note that as a fighting force, the Hospitallers postdated the Templars.

Godfrey & his brother Baudoin had both Merovingian & Carolingian ancestry. The original named Templar knights were nobles of middle-ranking aristocratic stock from Champagne, Burgundy or Flanders. The Templars & the Cistercians before them were both founded by the "New Jerusalem"-focused Troyes Fraternity as part of a long term strategy required in order to recover a number of documents from the Temple (including the War Rule Scroll of the Essene & the Book of Jubilees). Bernard of Clairvaux's scholars translated any documents that were sent back.

Thus the power behind the Templars were also the founders of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, however the Templars were at the highest levels far more closely connected with the inner circle of families backing them than was the nominal founder of the Holy Sepulchre.
