Stung by the magnitude of Dr. Bernice King's speech, I took to typing to attempt to capture the sparks.....

"' We have become distracted with reality shows...and the cares of the world.....by music that tears down instead of uplifts us..We have become distracted by Madison Avenue techniques, selfishness and greed, materialism, and lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh, and so , while we have been distracted, voting rights restrictions have been created....While we are distracted, our education system is the worst of the world..carbon footprints are growing, .While we are being distracted, environmental injustice towards the poor as schools and parks are being built on toxic wasteland, and it is going unnoticed and unpunished....While we are being distracted, lead is being placed in some people's water.... while we are being distracted, institutions designed to protect the people have allowed a few individuals with no regard for human life to hide behind a badge of honor,.. Wow, we've been distracted.. While we have been distracted, there is now an education to prison pipeline,....we've allowed more ethnic cleansing, radicalism and extremism to grow within our world.. while we are distracted, we are about to create in this civilised society the wild wild west with guns...but that's not all .....while we've been distracted we've allowed a supreme court justice to insult our intelligence and have the audacity to think about turning back the clock 60 years or so ......so if we are not careful we are about to allow a reality show host to bully himself into becoming President of the United States of America.... so my brothers & sisters, it's time for us to trump the trump and catch up ...I say to those who are on the .frontlines of our freedom struggle, .be encouraged,......it might seem like it is taking a long time..... .my mother said struggle is a never-ending process....freedom is never really won, you earn it and win it in every generation......this is not a sprint, this is a rally, we gotta pass the baton, look at the blueprint from generation to generation.......I wanna say, this is not the time to give up or quit, now is the time to be resilient, determined and focused,.....Daddy said one of the tragedies of human history, still the tragedy of human history is that the children of darkness are often more determined and zealous than the children of lightness....Look at your neighbour and say Catch up.....look at your neighbour and say Keep it Moving! I'm talking to the children of light,,.Do not just remember and celebrate, time to move forward, keep it moving....As I close, I challenge you and I charge you..as we commemorate the 30 anniversary of my Father's 87th birthday, ...in honor of my Father, to not grow weary in well doing .....in due season, we will reap if we faint not, don't give up , don't you quit of well doing.... You will reap if you faint not...We shall overcome, deep in my heart, I do believe we shall overcome someday.''"
