This was after the death of Malcolm X., which re-shaped the way in whch MLK wanted to tackle the race problem. This speech was also heavily influenced by several talks the former gave. The moment MLK began to take serious action, such as calling for the black people to avoid fighting the Vietnam war, he was assassinated. Two great men dead, yet the problem is still not.
