The bottom line on whether someone or a church is worshipping Satan or not is this: Are they believers saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and what He did to pay for our sins at Calvary with His blood? IF NOT, their worship is directed toward Satan, because that's all God is asking of us today...just that we believe in His Son and what He did for us on the Cross. He won't accept anything less or anything more. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph. 2: 8, 9. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that works are required in order to stay in a "state of grace" fit for heaven. They're not preaching the gospel of today; so Satan happily accepts their "worship," glorying in the fact that those that believe the Catholic teachings and live by them are DOOMED. Accept the free gift of salvation for simply believing in Christ. Acts 16:31; Romans 3:22; Galatians 2:16.

Believe and Live,

Sylvester

Well put, Websuspect. This is the standard rebuttal of the Catholic Church apologists. BUT, the Roman Catholic Church, and most of Protestantism (who've taken their cue from the RCC) are laboring under the WRONG GOSPEL. Jesus Christ came the first time ONLY UNTO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. Matt. 15:24. He came to fulfill the promises made unto the fathers. Rom. 15:8. His Life fulfilled the feast days that God gave Israel, all except for the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Trumpets, and the Feast of Tabernacles, which will be fulfilled at His 2nd Coming. One of the feast days that He did fulfill at His 1st Coming was the Feast of Passover in which He became Israel's true Passover Lamb sacrifice. Just like Israel needed to eat the bread that God sent them from heaven (the manna) when they were in the desert wilderness, they needed to sacrifice and eat the Passover Lamb in order to stay in Covenant with God. When Jesus came here Himself, Israel needed to accept Him right into themselves as their fathers had done with the manna and the Passover lambs in order to be part of the New Covenant that He made with them in His Blood.

It's purely symbolic, of course, anything else would be paganism. But the important thing to understand is that Jesus Christ said this to His chosen nation, ISRAEL! It was in direct relation to the prophetic program He had with them. Of course, many of them were so obtuse they had no clue what He was getting at, just like today. Jesus also called Himself the Living Water, the Door, the Vine, etc., but didn't literally mean it in a physical sense. The gospel Christ preached while on earth in His nation of Israel was one of faith in His Name plus doing something to prove it...water baptism, obey commandments, sell all, etc. But even after being given another chance after they crucified Him (Father forgive them, etc.), they still blew it and even stoned Stephen while he was filled with the Holy Spirit. But instead of the scheduled tribulation coming to pass, God began to do something different by offering salvation to the Gentiles w/o going through Israel's program. He did this by converting Paul and giving him a new gospel...our gospel...a Gospel of the Grace of God to all mankind with salvation as a free gift for believing that Christ died for our sins...no works required. We still commemorate the Lord's Supper with bread and wine to 'shew the Lord's death til He come,' but that's all it is, a symbol, a memorial.

The terms of salvation are so simple and are nothing like all the requirements that Israel had to perform in order to gain everlasting life in the Kingdom. Our gospel and our doctrines are found ONLY IN PAUL'S EPISTLES. We are the Body of Christ formed by his gospel, not Israel, or even 'spiritual Israel.' The 4 gospels, much of the Book of Acts, and Hebrews through Revelation are all written as doctrine about the Gospel of the Kingdom that God had for ISRAEL. How else could Paul say that we are saved by faith w/o works, and James could say we are not saved by faith only but by works also? That contradicts each other, but there is a simple answer...each author is writing to a different group of people: Paul to us, the Body of Christ; and James to 'the 12 tribes scattered abroad' James 1:1 (or the remnant of Israel in the Tribulation.) THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH HAS GOT TO STOP MIXING THESE TWO GOSPELS TOGETHER! Satan loves the confusion, disillusionment, and downright not-saved status this causes. STOP THIS BIGGEST OF ALL CONSPIRACIES AND THE REST WILL FALL INTO PLACE FOR YOU! Best wishes for your understanding,

Sylvester
