Dear Friends of the Constitutional Republic,

Every so often I’ll come across some article or essay that is compelling because it helps to pull together various thoughts, ideas, concerns and questions that have been floating around in my brain but that had no apparent relevance to each other or perhaps to any larger truth. When this happens it’s usually a fulfilling and pleasant experience because the floating objects can then be placed against (stapled to) this larger grid and their connections to the grid and to each other become apparent and meaningful. In this way the revelation of the truth about things is joyful, even if the truth uncovered happens to be a painful one.

Other than the Bible, I remember having this kind of experience when I read “Pilgrim’s Progress”. I can also remember feeling this way when I first listened to John Eidsmoe’s lectures about United States history and about the United States Constitution. Likewise, reading Bastiat’s “The Law” helped to clarify my understanding of law and government. Many of the speeches and articles written by Mr. Howard Phillips, the founder of the Conservative Caucus and the Constitution Party, were instructive and useful in this same way.
Just about a week ago…it happened to me again. I picked up a copy of The Moneychanger, a publication put out by my friend Franklin Sanders. The lead article in the latest edition of The Moneychanger is entitled, “Money: Substance or Symbol”.

While reading it, I began to get that excited feeling because I was starting to reach for and grab hold of and “staple” these ideas and questions and concerns about the nature of money and our monetary system in America against the grid I was learning about in the article. It was thrilling for me as I started to think things like, “Oh, that’s where that fits!”, and “that’s why that happens”, and “that’s why they never do this”, and “that’s why they’ll ALWAYS do that!”
I got so excited that I started sharing the article with my friends and family. Last Friday, I read the entire article to my friend Ken as we drove to West Virginia to look after some property we manage there. I couldn’t get it off my mind. Not just because it is so explanatory about our dreadful fiat money system in these United States, but because it provides the practical means and methods – the strategy — needed to escape the ravaging effects of the fiat money system. Mr. Sanders suggests the solution as well as the problem.

It’s exciting and liberating. That’s not to say it will be easy. But it’s possible and more importantly, since we have an affirmative duty to escape evil, it’s most helpful and blessed to be shown the path.

With the permission of my friend Franklin Sanders, we are publishing the piece in two installments. You may read Part I on our web page and also hear my interview with Franklin on our “The American View” radio show. My idea is that we will publish Part II in a few days. Then we welcome your thoughts, comments and suggestions.
As I mentioned, I have taken the time to read this article (in it’s entirety but not all at once) to my family with the hope that the facts and truths contained herein will stick with them and help to move them from the “abstract” to the “real”. Perhaps you would like to do the same with your loved ones, particularly your posterity. They need to know this stuff.
